Read on to find answers to some frequently asked questions regarding the work we do at Heart of the Community. We are transparent about all we do so that the members of the Calne Community can benefit from our services. We are always looking for new donors whether it's time, finances, or food. Our volunteers and future donors can learn everything they want to know about us. If you still have inquiries, feel free to contact us for more information.
IF I MAKE A DONATION, CAN I DECIDE WHAT MY MONEY IS USED FOR?
While the simple answer is yes, we would prefer to have some flexibility if possible. Donations for a specific item such as food is appreciated, but we also need to pay our rent! We do promise that any donations will be spent for the community.
HOW IS HEART OF THE COMMUNITY DIFFERENT THAN OTHERÂ CHARITIES?
Our aim is to reach out and engage with all the Community of Calne and the surrounding areas.
The people we come into contact with our diverse in age and background, but we believe in equality for all.
HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU IMPACT WITH YOUR CHARITABLE WORK?
We are currently seeing around 80 people (plus) per month.
Our guests call in for a variety of reasons, from food to company.
WHEN ARE YOU OPEN AND HOW MANY DAYS ARE YOU OPEN?
We are open 3 days a week between 11am and 4pm

lunch is usually served around 12.30 why not pop in.
IS THERE TRANSPORT AVALIABLE FOR THOSE THAT NEED IT?
We offer discretionary free transport to our guests who would otherwise be unable to reach us.
