Some of November's thoughts for reaching out to the community, have already seen fruition, others are still being considered and planned.
Our achievements during November, and plans for December are outlined below.
Shine a light on autism
Our first parent/carers support group for children on the autism spectrum was a resounding success.
Heart of the Community has been asked to run this session twice weekly, and it is hoped that this request will be delivered in the new year.
The group meets every Monday at 9.30 at Colemans Farm Community Centre.
Transport
The option of transport appears to offer a solution for our location been slightly out of town.
By providing transport that is free to our service users, we have eight new visitors attending on a regular basis.
Activities
Along side a hot meal, Heart of the Community provides activities enabling our service users to interact with each other and form friendships.
Our activities range from seated sports, arts and crafts, bingo etc.
These activities assist in combatting social isolation.
If you are interested in attending any of the activities please drop us a line.
Events - Save the date - Friday 24th December
We will be holding a four course Christmas lunch followed by an afternoon of fun and frolics.
Spaces are limited to 30 and will be allocated on first come, first served basis.
Children welcome please book by 17th December at the latest.
